When I am counselling my aim is to provide a safe, non judgemental space for any adolescents from the age of 12 years upwards. Part of my criteria before initiating therapy with any adolescent is that there is either a parent or guardian involved in the careplan while still maintaining a safe confidential environment for the young person within the guidelines of Children’s First.
I work with any range of issues that may be arising in the young person’s life whether it is to do with school, bullying, relationships, sexuality, behavioural issues or struggling when coming up to a stressful time in their lives such as Junior or Leaving Certificate.
Young people no different to adults may struggle with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression or just struggling to manage or undersatnd their emotions.
If you are either a parent or guardian who has a concern for any adolescent in their life or are an adolescent with any of the concerns above speaking with a counsel may help.
